We also had something this photo is missing: the Besser-block incinerator! It is ex-Housing Commission, with plenty of room for the fruit trees and vegies as well as the cricket pitch, but there were no signs of what the first owners did. And we have not one, but two ugly sheds -- one aluminium, the other fibro... on concrete slabs too!Chookiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07230973711859964063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7797396120087729156.post-14135814487906743092009-03-29T03:49:00.000+11:002009-03-29T03:49:00.000+11:00I love nosing at other people's gardens. Younger people with no garden are taking over their older neighbours gardens to grow veg and then splitting the produce with themHelen/patientgardenerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02164036792673009326noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7797396120087729156.post-3977736835307861532009-03-28T21:27:00.000+11:002009-03-28T21:27:00.000+11:00Hi Jamie. Also can relate because work circumstances are forcing my family to move house - from one with an established garden to one in a "legoland" housing estate with most of the land wasted on the front lawn. Expect me to start pestering you, who seem to have a successful organic garden in a coastal area, about things such as fruit fly, slugs and whether "full sun" always has to mean "full sun." Here's to the destruction of lawn boringness!Thoraiyahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09679750105137251364noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7797396120087729156.post-2230093835579225922009-03-28T17:40:00.000+11:002009-03-28T17:40:00.000+11:00GraceThey're asking $779K, and the general consens...Grace<BR/>They're asking $779K, and the general consensus amongst the local experts (ie, Pam, me and the people across the road) is that it's a bit optimistic, not wildly so, so we'll see what the market says soon enough.Jamiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14653345793213312242noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7797396120087729156.post-68752220891970903362009-03-28T15:19:00.000+11:002009-03-28T15:19:00.000+11:00Hi Jamie~~ It's always fun to read your posts. My lawn never looks that good despite my best efforts. And my lawn is a lot smaller. The only drawback to an empty canvas is the back breaking hardscape installation. Once that's done, the sky's the limit!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
